
To practice speaking in the past tense, use these questions as a starting point. Answer the question and continue speaking to tell a story or elaborate on your answer.
* With these -ed ending words, there may be words that end with a “D” sound because of the “b, g, l, m, n, r, w, v, y, a, e, i, o, u” before the “-ed.” There may also be words that end with a “T” sound because c/k, f (gh or ph), j, (dge),p, s, z, sh, ch before the “-ed,”….or may end with the regular “-ed” sound because there is a “d or t” before the “-ed.”
conducted | When was the last time you conducted a meeting? |
converted | Have you ever converted something into something else? |
critiqued | When was the last time you were critiqued about your work? |
customized | Describe a time you customized something. |
conceived | What was the best idea you conceived? |
connected | Name a book or movie you connected to the most from your adolescents. |
constructed | What fantasy have you constructed in your head that no one could ever change? |
controlled | Name something you controlled recently. |
convinced | Describe a time you were convinced you lost your phone. |
cultivated | Name someone you would describe as cultivated. |
consolidated | Describe something you consolidated at work. |
coordinated | Describe a time you coordinated a dinner party. |
decided | Describe the time you decided it was time to quit your first job. |
delivered | Describe your worst or best experience having food delivered through a food delivery app. |
demonstrated | Describe a time you feel you flawlessly demonstrated your skills. |
