Kids, Kids, Kids!

Dave: “Hey Seth! How’s the weather over there? You look like you haven’t slept since the other decade.”

Seth: “Man, it’s this and that every night. My brother warned me, but there’s no preparing for a toddler who thinks breathing is optional when he’s throwing a tantrum. Mother Nature really has a sense of humor.”

Dave:Their energy is just… another level. My youngest is finally teething, so there’s that. I’m slathering gel on his gums every other hour just so we can breathe for a second. Though, I’d rather deal with that than the whining.”

Seth: “I hear you. These kids don’t care if we have a deployment. They just want to gather all their toys and throw them at each other. Then, they look at you like you’re the one with the problem.”

Dave:Smooth move. My daughter tried to bathe her iPad the other day. I told her, ‘You can’t do that, sweetheart,’ and she just shrugged like, ‘Whither goest the Wi-Fi, dad?’”

Seth: “Exactly! They are tough, though. My son fell down those stairs—not far, mind you—and just got up like it was nothing. Neither of us could believe it. We were seething with anxiety, and he’s just… there, laughing.”

Dave: “Well, rather him than us. I’d break another hip. Nevertheless, we weather the storm, right? Together.”

Seth: “True. There’s nothing like our beautiful children! Farther down the road, we’ll miss this, or so they say. Though, I’m not sure I believe them yet.”
