Intonation Practice 6: R Sound Casual

Practice intonation and the English R sound with this casual conversation between developers and designers.

The After Work Plan

Liwei: Hey, I was thinking we should finally take a break from the codebase tonight and grab some food.

Alex: That sounds like a solid plan because I am definitely hitting a wall with these API integrations. Any specific cuisine in mind?

Liwei: I am leaning toward that new ramen spot downtown since it is quick and usually pretty quiet on weeknights. Plus, we need to fuel up if we are going to get through a full session of Terraforming Mars afterward.

Alex: Oh, so we are actually committing to a long-form strategy game tonight. I should probably warn you that I have been refining my engine-building tactics lately. You might not have such an easy win this time.

Liwei: I appreciate the confidence, but I have heard that before. Last time you focused way too much on heat production and ignored your victory points until the final generations. Strategy requires a bit more flexibility than a standard logic gate.

Alex: Fair point, but I have adjusted my parameters. As long as the board state does not get too chaotic early on, I think I can optimize my resource management much better.

Liwei: We will see about that. The real challenge is going to be balancing our hunger with the setup time for all those components. If we head out by six, we should have plenty of bandwidth for at least one deep-strategy match.

Alex: Agreed. I will wrap up this pull request and meet you at the entrance in ten minutes. Just try to keep the competitive debugging to a minimum while we eat.
